 CHRIS
SHEBEL was the Program Director
of Chicago's acclaimed dance radio station, ENERGY 92.7&5
(WKIE/WKIF/WDEK). He hosted the final broadcast shift during "The
Last Dance." In addition, he served as Program Director for
Big City Radio's Chicago stations including The Eighties Channel
103.1 WXXY, and the pop/contemporary hit station, 92KISS-FM. He
also launched the pop/dance music format on 103.1 WYXX Morris.
He also consulted the launch of Phoenix's dance radio station,
Energy
92.7 & 101.1 ("EnergyArizona").
Chris
has had a long and impressive career in radio, including stints
in Pennsylvania, Providence, New York, Phoenix, and WLS in Chicago.
Yet it was his radio programming strategies in Chicago that has
earned most of the industry's respect. The innovative formats
for 92KissFM and The Eighties Channel 103.1 WXXY were adopted
by bigger radio companies after they noticed their impact on the
Chicago radio audience. His daring and then-unbeliveable attempt
at launching a commercial dance radio station in the third-largest
market was bold at the least. With humbleness and pride, Chris'
successes in Chicago and programming style inspired other radio
companies to start up dance music stations throughout the country.
After
leaving Big City Radio, Chris became the Operations Manager for
Clear Channel's radio station cluster in Raleigh, North Carolina.
His duties included being Program Director for the hit radio station,
G106. In January 2004, Chris accepted program director duties
for the adult/CHR station, WRMF-FM, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
